Jeffrey Zachmann is a kinetic sculptor based in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. He has been building and showing his kinetic sculptures for 30 years now. Jeff's inspiration comes from a childhood spent building, inventing, and playing. Starting with stainless steel rods, Jeff bends, welds, bolts and screws the steel into a framework for a sculpture. He then adds a visually suited lift system to the framework before working a wire track system onto the sculpture from top to bottom. Found metal and handmade gears add depth and history to his art. His work proudly bears the marks of being handmade. Jeff's sculptures invite the viewer to participate and interact with the piece. He strives to make his work an oasis in a hectic world, a nod to childhood simplicity and excitement that energizes and captivates the child in us all. “Life,” he says, “can be too serious. We all need those times that let us retreat from it”.

Carl Zachmann is a kinetic sculptor based in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. Carl has been sculpting kinetic artwork from found metal since 2012. Carl began his college career in the University of Minnesota’s engineering program, but with his passion for history, industry, and the arts driving him, Carl chose instead to pursue a BA in Archaeology with a minor in Art from Minnesota State University Moorhead.  Carl received a Master’s degree in Historical Archaeology from Illinois State University. He merged his varied interests together through the creation of his machine art.  Carl’s kinetic sculptures explore the designs and textures of America’s industrial past. The raw and distressed steel gears are put in motion and set against a static background accented by period graphics and vintage hardware, paying homage to the Industrial Revolution in an increasingly electronic world.
